On September 9th 2011 Hardi Meybaum of GrabCAD made an announcement which stirred European startup community present at the closing ceremony of the annual Seedcamp week in London, UK. He renounced GrabCAD's € 25K worth Seedcamp golden prize and gave it away to young Croatian startup called Farmeron.
For Farmeron team, it was a turning point in how they perceive startup community should function. They realized that, as Hardi properly described, it should all be about giving back to those who also aim for stars and strive to get their businesses off the ground as well.
To nurture this true entrepreneurial spirit which Seedcamp has fostered throughout Europe, and to continue giving back, Matija Kopić of Farmeron created this website with a single goal. Let's create a repository of examples startups and entrepreneurs helping each other out in extraordinary ways, proving that bonds between fellow entrepreneurs are important part of startup's life.
Rules
1.Help your fellow entrepreneur in some tangible way. With no strings attached. We propose giving a small amount of money, giving some free workspace, or making an important introduction for your friend. Or think of another way of giving back.
2.Let us know what you have done (e-mail us) so that we can create a new #startupsgivingback Timeline or add you to existing one. Timeline represents historical chain of events you set in motion by helping one or more of your fellow entrepreneurs. (In time, you'll be able to create and grow your own.)
